Yeah, that's right - the first blog entry and the first thing I do is rip on myself. The only way is up.

To reiterate the title, welcome to our humble SW blog. A space in which we want to bring you into our world, keep you up-to-date with all things Standing Waves and get to know the people that are following us. We will be bringing a few (hopefully) fun features and topics of discussion along with us so please, subscribe, and lets get on with it!

Now for the dullest statement I hope to ever write in this: so far we've been practically chained to the rehearsal rooms. That is precisely the reason why its taken us 9 months to have anything worth putting on social media, and to start to have anything that you might describe as 'presence'.

When we formed in Feb 2017 (with a different lineup to how you see us now) we got straight off the mark, but sadly some personnel issues have pinned us back, and it has taken this long to get things to settle down and get the ball rolling again.

Now, between myself, John & Ryan we have a pretty sweet arrangement going: we're productive, we're proactive, and, for the first time ever, on November 2nd, we were live!

Thank you to Hogarths, Bolton, for putting up with us. We had a great time and we look forward to coming back in the very near future.

What we expected to be a three-songs-and-off job turned into a 8 track set, which was a pleasant, and terrifying, surprise.

It all seemed to go down pretty well and we are currently in discussions with Hogaths about future appearances.

Thank you also to everyone that came to watch, and to the other artists that got up and played, it was all-in-all a really good night and we can't wait to get in front of a brilliant crowd again.

There are a couple of potential guitarists coming to rehearse with us this week therefore we are hopeful that we will have a full sound very soon. However, for now, we are still on the hunt for a second guitarist: someone who can help us round out the sound and give us that finished product. We want someone who is easy going, and enjoys getting together and writing some tunes.

Moving forward we're aiming to get a couple more appearances in before the end of the year, we will set up events etc to notify everyone about it when they're confirmed. Of course there will be more new material to present at these, so you don't want to miss them!
